Thomas Reardon

Thomas Reardon is an American computational neuroscientist and the co-founder of Flourish, leading AI researchers into the next wave of AI-Intelligence outside in the real-world, outside the data center. Flourish is designing synthetic intelligence with the capability of a human brain that operates with human efficiency, learning continuously in real-time. He was formerly the CEO and co-founder of CTRL-labs, which Facebook acquired in 2019. At Meta he was Vice President of Research and Head of Input & Interactions and NeuroAi.

Prior to his work in computational neuroscience, Dr. Reardon did pioneering work on the early Web. He is credited with creating the Internet Explorer project at Microsoft, which for many years was the world's most-used browser. He was a founding board member of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), where he was instrumental in developing and implementing HTML4, XML and in particular CSS. He went to serve as Openwave’s chief technology officer, leading the development of the first mobile web browsers. Dr. Reardon is a trustee of Columbia University and a member of the board of the Zuckerman Mind+Brain+ Behavior Institute at Columbia University. He is a partner at Lux Capital, where he advises and invests in deep-tech startups. As an inventor and entrepreneur, he holds dozens of U.S. patents. He has published in Science, Nature Neuroscience, and Neuron, including a landmark 2025 Nature paper on scalable neural interfaces.

Dr. Reardon received a B.A. in classics from the Columbia School of General Studies in 2008, an M.S. in neuroscience from Duke University in 2010, and an M.Phil and Ph.D in neuroscience and behavior from Columbia University in 2013 and 2016, respectively.
